Colmar with Aurélie
"Oh Really"

Not just a guide - Your Colmar insider

Tired of hyper-standardized walking tours? Me too.I’m Aurélie, or as my guests call me “Oh really!”
Born and raised in Colmar, I’ll take you through my hometown with stories, and the kind of small details only a true local would know.
My tours blend humor, history, and personal memories: from the places I played as a child to my grandparents’ stories from the war.

What You’ll See

Every tour is a little different — because every group is different!
But here’s a taste of what we might explore together:

🏞 La Petite Venise — and the real story behind those perfect postcard shots
🏠 The most unusual houses in Colmar — including Maison Pfister and Maison des Têtes
🐴 Where I played as a kid — hidden corners and alleys full of childhood memories
🍪 My grandparents’ Colmar — what it was like to live in Colmar as a French-German family through the wars
🕯 Hidden symbols — old carvings, crests, faces and dates with meanings only locals notice
🥨 Snack stops — and optional tastings of kougelhopf, pretzels, or a little local wine
🗣 A few fun words in Alsatian — yes, it’s still spoken (a little!)
🇫🇷🇩🇪 Alsace’s in-between identity — why we’re a little French, a little German, and entirely ourselves
🎨 Then & now — how Colmar has changed over the past 40 years through my photos and stories
⛔️ Where not to eat — and where to go instead (I’ll help you avoid tourist traps)
📍 Local tips — I’ll help you book a table, ask for directions, or even buy wine

Meet "Oh Really"

I was born and raised in Colmar, right in the historic center, back when it still felt like a village.
I’d bike through the streets, stop at the butcher and the baker, and hear my grandmother complain about “the pavés” (the cobblestones) that made walking tricky.
To me, this town was just normal. I didn’t realize I was growing up in the town of Beauty and the Beast.
It was just home.
When I turned 18, I left (I was the adventurer of my family 😊), and for almost 15 years, I traveled the world, lived in different countries, explored different lifestyles, and held more jobs than most people have in a lifetime.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in tourism and worked for companies like Backroads and Butterfield & Robinson, leading tours across cultures and continents.
When I’m not guiding tours, I’m a therapist (yes, yes…) and a mother to one very energetic toddler (runs in the family…).
And around Christmas, I bake enough Bredele (Alsatian biscuits) to feed half the town.
I created this tour because I was tired of scripted walks packed with facts but no personality.
I wanted to offer something different, something I would actually enjoy.
I’ll help you see and feel what Colmar is really about and show you the parts most tourists completely miss.
I speak French, English, Spanish, and a little Romanian — and I’ll teach you a few words of Alsatian too!
